On Saturday, July 29, 2017, the Southwest Middlesex Acting Krew (SMAK) of Appin celebrated their 25’th anniversary of providing excellent amateur live theatre productions in the Appin community centre. Janet and Dan Muscutt, the leaders of the group all these years, could not have chosen a more perfect day! The day started with vendor displays, three local Lions groups providing food, live entertainment, local government dignitaries, and ended with a full BBQ dinner. The Glencoe Lions, pictured here, cooked up hamburgers and hot dogs for the crowd, while the Melbourne Lions provided the fresh-cut fries and the Mt. Brydges Lions manned the beer tent.
Local area MPP Monte McNaughton brought greetings and a certificate from the provincial government, and Marigay Wilkins, Deputy Major of Southwest Middlesex, did the same for our community. Janet Muscutt accepted the wishes and certificates on behalf of SMAK.
Here are some of the vendors and displays that participated. The organization for this celebration was incredible, and the organizers deserve “moocho koodos” for their effort and planning.
